Welcome to Essendon Danse Academy

We are a full time, family run dance school offering a range of styles from Jazz and other Theatrical styles, to Dancesport Ballroom and Latin dancing. With a class or lesson to suit anyone, we welcome all ages from 4 years up to mature age.

EDA was established in March 1963, by Frank and Glennis South, after Frank retired from his successful competitive career in  Australia and the UK.

Today, the studio is run by their son, Richard South, and Samantha Lescure, and the legacy continues on for a third generation, as their daughter and 2024 Dancesport Ballroom and New Vogue Champion, Saffron South, enthusiastically coaches alongside them.

At EDA, we provide a supportive community for all ages and skill levels, and aim to inspire and foster a love of dance in everyone who decides to learn. All our classes and lessons, are fun, friendly, and inclusive.
